Aprel 15 - THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF CULTURE
“Respect for world culture begins with the attitude of every nation to its culture”April 15 is one of the remarkable days of the cultural calendar.
15 april 1935, Washington Treaty (Roerich Pact) on the Protection of Artistic and Scientific Institutions and Historic Monuments was signed. In 1998, a public organization which named the International League for the Protection of Civilization initiated the celebration of this date as the International Day of Culture. From that date, April 15 is celebrated in various countries, including Azerbaijan. From ancient times, Azerbaijan was known as a rich heritage of world culture and has contributed its contribution to cultural development of humanity. Historically, the Azerbaijani people preserving cultural identity and have present to future generations. This specific is also associated with the multiculturalism in our country. Today, Azerbaijan is famous with its rich cultural heritage in the international arena.
Our country is also closely cooperates with UNESCO, the world’s cultural organization. The Cultural values of Azerbaijan are being promoted through this organization in the world. On relevant lists of UNESCO, include a majority examples of tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
